Class

Tap

Tap is rhythm you can hear: shuffles, steps and short routines, learned one sound at a time. We clap each rhythm first, then put it in the feet, then play it with the music.

  • Ages 6 to 12

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

  • Classes of up to 12 dancers

What a class is like

  1. 01

    Step 1: Warm up

Stretch the ankles and feel the floor in bare feet or flat shoes.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Clap it first

The teacher claps a rhythm and the class claps it back.

  3. 03

Step 3: Put it in the feet

The same rhythm in shoes, slowly, then a little faster.

  4. 04

    Step 4: A short routine

Steps strung together to a song, which the class shows each other at the end.
